Hey Mum,
Can’t believe how fast this year’s gone seems like yesterday you had me feeding you Grapes in the Hospital. Diva til the end fist bump to that! I’m going to see if i can get your old mob together over Xmas as we didn’t get a chance after you left. We weren’t allowed. You wanted to be with Brian in Aldershot if I remember rightly so thought Xmas would be just write. Do miss the Xmas glow you’d make even the signing hats you’d make us wear!
Anyway getting snotty now so just want you to know I think of you and you’re not forgotten.
Love always,
Mark xx

For those of you that didn't hear it, I thought I'd share the piece I wrote for Mum on here. Hope you like it?
This is my Mum,
Stubborn, direct and demanding
Intelligent, thoughtful and funny
She’s a Diva
Confirms everything she doesn’t like
Nosey as a parker
Wants what she wants, when she wants it
Cries and laughs more than anyone I know and annoys you then doesn’t
Makes you work, makes them work, makes us work. Why do we work?
She invigorates
Is normal and different, strong then weak, big then small
She is Mum
She wasn’t there but she was. She isn’t here, but she is
She lives in us, but we just don’t see
She knew family, friendship, happiness and contentment
Then anguish, confusion, and nothing
Loneliness and silence, pain and regret
Then love, and now Peace
She taught us manners, and respect, and discipline
Never judged people, no matter how different they were
She encouraged morality while somehow sacrificing her own
We are her somewhere/somehow
She was everything, then nothing
She’s gone and we will know. I will know
We’re not promised time or tomorrow
That, I will never forget
She is resilient, compassionate and forgiving
I have fond memories of She
One should never take more than they give
But she lost more than she gave
That’s what Mums do....
So misunderstood
Intentions so good
But I see you now my friend
And thank you for everything
Smiles and laughs, followed your path
That, is what I’ll remember
This is my Mum...

Hi All,
I thought this would be the best platform to thank everybody for their support and kind wishes. It's made this whole process easier for me. I'm confident Mum would've appreciated the service and would like to send out a massive massive thank-you to Sam Joslyn for organising it and taking the reins in time of need.
I'd also like to put the feelers out for a memorial day when the time's right and the Covid pandemic has calmed down. As we didn't have a wake, Mum's closest couldn't get together and share laughs and stories of her life. Let me know if your interested and reach to others you feel may be interested pls?
Thanks again everyone, spk soon
Mark xx
